Somlo Furmint 2011 from Apatsagi Pince

Yeah, Furmint is on of the greatest varieties (if it’s not THE variety) of south-east europe and I am tasting one example of the Somlo region of hungury!

Somlo Furmint 2011 – Apatsagi Pince:
a very delicous wine of older vines (40+) with smoke, peach (stone fruits) and almost “stony-dust” in the nose. On the palate it’s a very ripe version of wine with good length and a pleasant finish which is very mineral. This wine comes from this hot region in hungary. I can taste smokyness, peach as well and also pulverized stones! It is a full bodied wine with 14.00 % alc, but I think you cannot feel this. For more questions, please ask, otherwiese the wine will be drunken soon.

I like it. Keep on rockin’..

    Ata Rangi Pinot Noir 2007

I’ve never had such a Pinot Noir in the nose and on my palate.

This is just a very very powerful wine – wow. this is a very interesting Pinot!
Aromas like plums, smokyness, very powerful, intense, but all in all elegant. This is what I haven’t expected in any Pinot Noir I have tasted yet… But my question to you is – is this Pinot Noir we must love or should be avoid such a style? On my opinion the elegance is hidden behind the powerful length… You must decide yourself. This wine has nothing to do with the traditional wines from Burgundy.

When I had to rate this wine, I would give it 92-93 Points. Not more, because as I said, I am missing the Pinot Noir elegance a little bit.

This is the wine> (It is the 2011 vintage but the 2007 bottle looks the same)

    #Wikileaks is important!

Wikileaks is one of the most important things for all of us on the world. Just think about villages. It starts there. A lot of decissions are made by just a few people. Some of them are secret. Some of them help just a few people to get a better position or some money. Why should it be different in the big world? It’s not. I want to know. We should know what’s going on out there. Wikileaks is powerful and hopefully will help us. The internet helps this way of journalism.

    dveri pax sipon 2007

sipon is maybe the greatest grape of jeruzalem, a hilly and beautiful landscape in the north-east of slovenia. this wine has a very intense taste of apples, pears, little bit of citrus fruits, is smoky and has a long finish. it is not a in-your-face wine, but elegant and, yes really, i like the long finish. sipon, normally known as furmint is one of the greatest grapes in the south-eastern part of europe.

dveri pax is a relative new winery. the abbey in admont, austria, got areas from the slovenian government back and started wine growing again. the areas got lost because of creating new borders after first world war.

yes buy it, i can remember the price was at approx. 12 euros. ok, that’s ok and not overpriced at all.

    wings of desire 1987

i have not seen this movie before, but i am really impressed. it is a story about angels who live since ages on earth and and now between the human species, their counterpart. they cannot see colors, but they can hear what people think. children can see them, not grown-ups. i really highly recommend this movie. it is warm, it is slow, it is full of thoughts and it is about life and what angels cannot feel – and the difference between the human and angels. actors like bruno ganz, peter falk or otto sander do their best.

of course buy the dvd, 100% worth, just great. one of the best movies i have ever seen.

    hermano – only a suggestion 2007

yes, this really rocks. as you wouldn’t think that i like stoner rock, i want to suggest this album to you. it starts heavy, fast and big. stoner rock has always a very long “breath”, a style of music which doesn’t end. it seems to be like a child is born. the birth really takes time. but when it is finished, everything is good.

yes, buy it but please do not download any mp3 file. real time albums you can hold in your hand.

    lentsch pinot noir 2005

after a hard working day i went into the woods for a short run. unfortunately i found no pigs. not a big problem so it is time to open a very good pinot noir from austria. this wine comes from the north eastern part, from the east side of the neusiedler lake. it’s a relatively warm and dry area. in some years it can be too warm for pinot noir, but 2005 seems to be ok. the wine is smoky, dark berry fruits with good acidity. elegant, not heavy and matches perfect to food. and it’s from vintage 2005 – still very young i would say.

buy it if you can and drink it now to 2014
this wine screams for good bread and cheece, yeah
